Fika's Mission and Commitment

We exist for one reason: to be the technology co-founder that every non-tech entrepreneur deserves — but rarely gets.

Every great product starts as a half-finished thought in someone's head. A problem they've lived with long enough to believe they could solve it better. What stops most of those ideas from becoming real companies isn't the idea — it's the gap between having a vision and knowing how to build it.

That gap is technical. And for non-tech founders, it can feel insurmountable. The jargon, the architecture decisions, the hiring, the trade-offs — all of it requires a fluency that most founders simply haven't had cause to develop. And that's perfectly fine. Building a company is hard enough without also becoming a software engineer.

"Our mission is simple: to be the technology co-founder for any non-tech entrepreneur — so that a lack of technical knowledge is never the reason a good idea fails to launch."

What we actually mean by "co-founder"

The word is intentional. A co-founder isn't a service provider. They don't take a brief and deliver to spec. They sit inside the problem with you, bring their own perspective to the table, and share in the responsibility of getting it right. They challenge you when your instincts are wrong, support you when the path is unclear, and bring skills you don't have — without replacing the ones you do.

That's the standard we hold ourselves to at Fika. Not "here's your roadmap, good luck" — but "let's figure this out together, and I'm not going anywhere until we do."

Technology should never be the reason a great idea fails to become a great company.

Our commitments to every founder we work with

Radical transparency
No black boxes. You'll always know what's being built, why, what it costs, and what the trade-offs are. Technology shouldn't feel like a mystery you're paying for.
Business-first thinking
Every technical decision starts with a business question. We don't recommend technology because it's interesting — we recommend it because it moves the needle for you.
Team over tools
The people you build with matter more than the stack you build on. We prioritise hiring excellent developers, creating clear processes, and building a team that outlasts the engagement.
Building toward your independence
Our goal is to work ourselves out of a job — in the best possible way. We set up the systems, the team, and the knowledge transfer so you can eventually run without us.

Why we work exclusively with non-tech founders

It's a deliberate choice, not a limitation. Non-tech founders bring something that technical co-founders often lack: deep domain expertise, customer empathy, and the kind of irrational conviction that's actually required to build something from nothing. They understand the problem better than anyone. What they need is a partner who can translate that understanding into software.

Working exclusively with non-tech founders means we've become very good at one specific thing: bridging the communication gap. Turning business problems into technical requirements. Translating technical constraints back into business language. Making the invisible visible, and the complex simple.

That's a specialist skill. And it's one we've spent years developing — because we believe it's the most valuable thing we can offer.

Fika isn't for everyone. If you already have a strong technical co-founder, you don't need us. But if you're a non-tech founder staring at a product vision you can't yet build — we're the missing piece.
